Organised by Unison supported by Swindon Borough Council

Please book places online through Learning Solutions. Contact Shelly Fleming Unison Lifelong Learning Coordinator 463896 or Bob Johnson Unison Chair 07766368375

Two themes Heroes and Heroines and Dignity at Work

The Workshops will bring out the poet in YOU ! Young or not so young, experienced or new to poetry, participants will be encouraged to stick their
words, ideas and emotions together, play and shape words, and then let them out into the world.

Please don’t worry about spelling or any other writing skills. Should you need it, help will be available; and we can also provide a ‘buddy’ to attend
with you, if that would help. And remember, poetry does not have to be written down. It can be spoken!

Thursday 3rd September, Committee Room 6 Civic Campus 12.00 – 2.00
Monday 7th September, G18 Premier House, Station Road 12.00 – 2.00
Tuesday 15th September, Conference Room, Waterside 12.00 – 2.00
Monday 21st September, Committee Room 6 Civic Campus 12.00 – 2.00

Poet/facilitator will be Marcus Moore. He has produced Poetry Slams and Workshops throughout the central and southern region; including events at Cheltenham and Swindon Festivals of Literature and others. Marcus has written Call My Bluff clues for the BBC, had poems published by Macmillan, and has run countless workshops in schools, libraries, and even prisons.

Each workshop will enable the participant to play around with words and produce their very own poetry. Marcus is flexible in his approach to meet
the needs of those attending. Difficulties with spelling, writing, and poetry do not need to be a barrier. If you would like to give it a go, please do!

These events have the backing of Shelly Fleming Unison Lifelong Learning Coordinator, Gavin Jones, Chief Executive and Jack Markiewicz, Director
Human Resources & Change and SBC Learning and Development.
