SWINDON KITE FESTIVAL
8/9th May 2010*
The 20th Swindon Kite Festival; will be held at Brinkworth House; Brinkworth, about 10 miles west of Swindon, over the weekend 8/9th May 2010 from 10am until 5pm each day. This FREE event is a great day out for all the family! With kites of all shapes and sizes on show, Sport Kite displays by one of the UK’s leading flyers, Enormous single line kites, Indian fighter kites, Children’s kite workshop, and kite display teams. Guest’s from the USA and France will be joining kite flyers from all over the UK. Kite traders will also be at the show to advise the public on the best kite for their needs, if they want to join in the fun! This year’s chosen charity is “Help for Heroes” the charity has been invited to collect at the event. Food, ice creams, and Children’s rides will be available over the weekend.
Local kite club White Horse Kite Flyers, have been organising the event since 1991. Club members are passionate about all styles of kites and kite flying, they organise the event mainly to bring kite flying to a much wider audience. The club is grateful to Mr Ken Cooper, for the use of his land at Brinkworth House.
