Lantern Parade
Categories: arts, parade, festival
Isambard Community School needs your empty jam jars.
We would like to turn them into lanterns for our magical Lantern Parade which takes place on Wednesday 27 October 6pm-8pm
Please deliver your clean, empty glass jars to collection points in reception at Isambard School or to the North Swindon Library.
There are lantern making workshops taking place in North Swindon Library from 12-2pm, Saturday 25 September and Saturday 2nd October. Why not drop in and take part with your family? All ages welcome.
The Lantern Parade will start at North Swindon Library at 6pm on 27th October and will make its way through the streets and across the road bridge, ending up at Isambard Community School where refreshments will be available.
We promise a magical, colourful, happy occasion for families. There will be flags, banners and lanterns and the whole parade will be accompanied by Swindon Samba band.
Following the last lantern parade in 2008, one parent said:
My daughter who is 2 years, had such a fabulous adventure this evening. It was such a lovely experience and we can’t wait for the next one. She was so excited and kept saying ’magical!’
