Summer Breeze Festival 2009 is a small music festival to be held on 4th JULY at Warren Farm, Liddington just outside Swindon.
A fantastic mix of music for this family event starting with a couple of young local bands destined for stardom closely followed by JOHN AND WAYNE a duo playing Folk /rock with a hint of comedy. Next on the bill is DUDLOW JOE a fantastic Boogie Woogie band from Bath followed by THE LACARNO BEAT a 60’s covers band featuring top local musicians Pete Townsend, Mike York and Steve Goby. THE SWEET PLUMS are next with their original take on folk rock, leading onto HIP ROUTE with there fantastic and very cool Roots music. Next on stage will be THE KULUCCI MARCH hot from there London debut and surely bound for bigger things, followed by FLIPRON just before their American tour playing fantastic electric antique shop music. Next is the mighty BEAT BULLYZ still hot from there fantastic performance at the Radio 1 Big Weekend and surely set to conquer the country, from there we go into NO 1 STATION a fantastic band hot footing it to us after performing at the Glastonbury Festival, and who are described by Radio 2’s Mark Lamar as ‘’ The UK’s premier Ska Band" They are bound to get your feet moving. We finish off the evening with a set from Dennis Fords own band BREEZE playing the songs we all love to hear.
Local farmer Dennis Ford and his wife Lorna were eager to raise funds for local charities after losing a close family friend. They had the idea of a small festival in the back garden of there farmhouse. This has now been running for 3 years and has raised a considerable amount for there chosen charities Prospect Hospice and Motor Neurone Disease.
This years event seems to have stepped up a gear with 12 bands playing throughout the day from Noon till Midnight.
With a Real Ale Bar and a glorious selection of foods on offer throughout the day this is set to be a fantastic event. With all the artists playing for free and all proceeds going to charity this has to be a great fund raising day.
