Swindon Dance
Mayuri Boonham redraws choreographic boundaries with her unique and visionary approach to Bharata Natyam dance. Two new works launch her new innovative company ATMA.
Sivaloka, inspired by the dramatic, rock-cut Elephanta temple in India, explores the concept of Siva, a unique contribution of Indian thought to the understanding of the human body.
Ghatam, inspired by Steve Reich’s drumming music composition and set to the beautiful sound of the ghatam, a classical Indian percussion instrument made of fired red clay.
The performance includes a curtain raiser by youth dancers from Swindon Dance.
