This year at Bradon Forest School we are hosting our annual summer arts festival… in a Big Top Tent! The four day event will see over 1000 participants performing a wide variety of shows, including live music, new drama, musicals, dance, art exhibitions, circus acts and much more! We also have the pleasure of presenting local primary schools, professional companies and many more local cultural organisations during this exciting festival of the arts. The festival will take place in a large big top circus tent on the grounds of Bradon Forest school, and it’s panning out to be a really exciting event as we have some amazing performances booked. Obviously, the music night is not to be missed if you like getting glammed up and dancing the night away! We are also really pleased to announce that we have the world famous circus school, Circomedia, performing on the Saturday night. They have put together a special performance just for the festival and at just £5 a ticket, you’d be mad to miss it! Those are just a couple of the highlights, but make sure you take a look at the website for full listings… Swindon Young Actors, Swindon Dance, Circo Ridiculoso, Shout Out Productions… the list goes on! There are festival passes available at just £22 for the weekend. Mousse up your hair for this comedy set in that era of questionable fashion decisions, the ’80s. In 1985, Robbie Hart is a vocalist whose rock band stubbornly refuses to get off the ground. In the meantime, he makes a living playing wedding receptions, where his easy charm and ability to schmooze brings him a steady income. Robbie meets Julia Sullivan when she’s working as a waitress at one of his wedding gigs; he immediately takes a shine to her, but since he’s engaged, he keeps his distance. Robbie learns that Julia is also engaged; unfortunately, her fiancée Glen Gulia is an obnoxious, self-obsessed yuppie who is chronically unfaithful to her. In time, Robbie realizes that he needs to step in and stop Julia from marrying Glen before the woman he’s come to love ruins her life….

The Big Draw Saturday 17th October 2009 11am-5pm Regular drawing workshops are held every Saturday from 11am to 1.30pm at the Post Modern, Theatre Square, Swindon (next to the Wyvern Theatre). From complete beginners to the more advanced. Come along and discover your creativity. The workshops will cover a broad range of drawing techniques and materials and a personal style of work will be encouraged. The workshops will be ideal for: - the beginner, - for art students looking for extra practice, - and for the more experienced, hoping to further develop their drawing and artistic skills. Prices are £10 per session (fully employed), or £7 (students, pensioners, benefits etc). Arts – Right Up Your Street- Swindon Planned within the Brunel Centre Swindon are three days of mini skills festivals that involves local arts and crafts groups sharing and engaging with visitors and shoppers in a small market place of informal arts learning activities.. We have space for at least ten groups. They will all be exhibiting and also encouraging participation on the days as well as after. Additional to this we will have an Artist working with everyone to create and build each day a box of portrait smiles. We thought that learning and art is all about bringing smiles to peoples faces.
