Andy Preston offers a wide range of technical services to artists in and around Swindon.

Assisting with digital presentations of photos, animations, videos and sound/music for Ray Ward in The Swindon Art Gallery, The Mechanics Trust at The Community Crossroads, and Artsite at their old gallery and The Post Modern.

Creating a special video transition for Christine Durrant for a video presentation.

Creating “special” music and sound for the short film productions “Spoilt Eggs” by Andrew Harvey and “Zvezda” by Andy Fargo.

Current projects include:

Developing a custom MIDI controller for… (well for his own use, but it counts)

Developing a control system to provide sound and lighting effects for a sculpture by Paul Augustus Walters.

He offers a wide range of digital media services to many sectors, including:

Creating multi-media CD-ROMs and hypnotherapy audio-CDs for Mindtech Products, marketing videos for Somers Handling (Part of Lloyds British PLC), Video productions (including time-lapse effects) for Artsite Limited.

He has also created and maintains various websites that are too numerous to catalogue here.

He provides tuition on all levels for practising and aspiring digital artists.

His own work as an artist consists of a series of digital collage prints presented in hand-made “junk” frames, a series of multimedia installations. His gallery work has been shown in The Artsite Gallery, The Community Crossroads, The Post Modern, and The Arts Centre in Swindon and The Walcot Street Memorial Chapel in Bath.

Nationally, he is more well known for his live multi-media performances which couple his own unique style of electronic music with his video work. These have been performed at The Watershed and Cube Cinema in Bristol, The State 51 Factory, The Flea Pit, The Foundry, and Cafe OTO in London, Padget High School in Burton on Trent. He has also performed at various venues in Swindon: The Beehive, The Victoria, The 12-Bar, The Legends Lounge, The Community Crossroads, and The Post Modern.
