Key Clients

I am available to lead dance workshops, classes and INSET - on an adhoc or more regular basis, and am also interested in performance projects and collaborations with other artists/organisations.

Personal Statement
Emma is an experienced dance artist with a range of skills in both performance and education. She seeks to create dance and performance experiences which are engaging, fun and based around her commitment to nurturing the creative potential and contributing to the personal development of all those she works with. She is a team player; a dedicated, focussed and collaborative worker.

Background
Emma trained at the Arts Educational London School from the age of 10-16 (1988-1994) before continuing her training at the London Contemporary Dance School on the BA(hons) course in Contemporary Dance (1994-1997).

Alongside performance and dance delivery, Emma has also worked in arts administration, with experience in marketing and project management roles. She gained an EDEXCEL Foundation in Dance Movement Therapy studies from the City of Bristol College in 2004, and completed a post-graduate certificate in Dance Movement Therapy at Roehampton University in 2006.

Emma was employed by DanceXchange as Dance Artist in Residence on the DAiR To… and Telford Culture Zone projects from January 2006 to August 2008, and now works as a freelance performer and dance practitioner.

Performance Work
Emma is an experienced and mature performer with a particular interest in work created for young audiences, and work of a theatrical nature. She has recently finished a National Tour of a dance theatre piece called The Tell Woman, which fused dance, puppetry and sound to create a fairytale for the under 10s. Emma played the central character Sam who went on an exciting and sometimes scary journey to save all the stories in the world! She has recently returned for Quebec, Canada where she performed as part of Osez! 09, which was a site specific work created by Melanie Demers (formerly of O Vertigo). Emma has also been a company member of Midlands based Laura Dredger Dance Company since 2007.
